Mission Statement
It is the aim of The Sick Child Care Program, Inc... to create an environment in which all men, women, and children, may learn, work, and play in harmony in which each person may realize his/her highest potential unhampered by discrimination, illness, or sickness.
Our Business
We are a nonprofit organization that cares for mildly ill children while their parents work, attend school, or training.
Established since 1971, and the FIRST NATIONALLY ~ Known Sick Child Care Program, serving the entire Bay Area.
Our center and in-home services operate ten months out of the year (September through June) and is closed for the summer months of July and August. Our Home-Networks (Licensed Daycare Providers) facilities operate July through June.
We receive funds from the State Department of Education, the City of Berkeley, Bayer Inc, parent fees, and donations.
Who We Are
~Our employees hold teaching permits from the State of California Commission of Teacher Credentialing Department, and we continue to upgrade and/or maintain our permits according to the commission guidelines.
~Our employees are trained in child development, childhood illness, home nursing, prevention and safety, and are CPR and First Aide Certified.
~We feel very strongly that the quality of our care is our biggest asset.
~We strive to improve and up date our information and skills constantly through staff development, in service education, attending workshops and seminars, and taking ongoing college courses.
